Lose Weight One Meal at a Time
Have you gotten frustrated trying to lose weight? Does your goal of losing 20 or 30 or 50 pounds seem overwhelming? You may just need to look at it differently.
If you're trying to lose more than a few pounds, you know it will take time. Sometimes the biggest challenge is consistently staying on a plan for weeks or months. Just thinking about it can be overwhelming!
There is an answer to this. Stop looking at your weight loss quest as one single task. Before you can lose 30 pounds you have to lose 10, and before you do that, you have to lose five, and so on.
After all, you didn't get in your current shape overnight, so don't expect to fix it overnight.
So while it's great to have big goals, try focusing on just losing 5 pounds at a time. Then once you achieve that, work on the next 5, and so on.
Even looking at things this way, you may still get a little discouraged from time to time. In that case, you need to realize that you only live one day at a time, actually one moment at a time. Focus on the current meal or snack when it's time to have it. Eat slowly and savor the food. Take small bites and really enjoy it.
You've probably heard the old saying that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Use the same philosophy with your weight loss plan. Live one day, one meal, even one bite at a time, rather than focusing on a task of several months.
You might just find this helps you stick with your program more effectively, and you might even enjoy it.
