Is Acid Weighing You Down?

The body is naturally acidic. This is a true statement. However, the foods we eat add to this acidity and the fat in our body stores the additional acid, which results in overweight problems and an unhealthy body. There are specific foods that are alkaline and help to flush the acid and fat from the body. These alkaline foods replace the acid and rapid weight loss is inevitable.

Here are some foods from the alkaline food list:

1. Vegetables
2. Wheat Grass
3. Fruit (grapefruit, lemon, lime are good)
4. Nuts (almond)
5. Fish oil, coconut oil, flaxseed oil and liver oil
6. Grains Buckwheat, quinoa, spelt
7. Condiments red chili pepper, sea salt, most herbs and spices
8. Goat milk
9. Beans and legumes
10. Pumpkin seeds and Sesame seeds

In addition to these foods, water is very essential in our daily diet. We can also supplement our food list with products that already contain all these ingredients above. There is a product called Energy Green that has all these alkaline foods as part of its ingredients so there would be no need to consume each item on the food list - there would be everything all in one product.

The body requires more attention to survive longer and remain in good health. Our health is a product of what we eat. Taking back control of our health and weight requires more awareness of our food consumption.

Here are some strong acidic foods to avoid or eat in very low moderation:

1. Dried fruit
2. Mustard
3. White sugar
4. Soy Sauce
5. Cashews and peanuts
6. Barley, corn and rye
7. Beef, organ meat and pork
8. Cottage cheese
9. Ice cream
10. Whey protein powder

The key to taking back our health is education and knowledge about food intake and its effect on the body. Weight loss is the primary goal of most people, but pursuing a weight loss diet will not necessarily meet the long-term goal of keeping the weight off. Healthy eating and moderate exercise should become a lifestyle. Taking a supplement is also recommended if the foods we eat dont contain all the right amounts of alkaline to assist in healthy living.

Learn all you can about the effects of alkaline versus acid in the body. Here are some effects that will give you a head start:

1. Acid can cause overweight problems, indigestion, acid reflux, loss of energy, stores the fat
2. Alkaline- gives more energy, natural and safe weight loss, eliminates chronic digestive problems, regulate blood sugar, strengthen the immune system, gets rid of the acid

Acid overload drains so much of our energy that the body doesn't have enough energy to fight off viruses and disease. In other words, the immune system is weakened. More so, when the body is overly acid there is more vulnerability to germs, yeast, bacteria, molds and fungi. Why? Because all these microorganisms thrive in acidity! In an alkaline environment they are weakened and cannot multiply as well. Therefore, by keeping the body alkaline it can prevent colds, the flu, and many other illnesses.

To protect against acid buildup, the body begins to create and store fat. Even if you are on a weight loss diet and you exercise, your body will try to hold on to this fat because it is important for protection against acids. That is why many people who restore alkalinity in their body find it incredibly easier to lose weight.

There are so many weight loss pills available today. Hoodia is a very popular one. However, more pills are not the solution. The true way to lose weight is to do so naturally and with permanent results and a healthier body.

The Self Hypnosis Weight Loss Diet

Any weight loss diet is only as effective as the willingness of the person dieting to stick with the diet's requirements. Eating, in general, is such a complex combination of nutrition, pleasure, and other psychological factors, that the motivation to adopt and practice a particular eating regime to lose weight may prove extremely difficult. Often, the person is torn between conflicting motivations, simultaneously needing certain foods and eating habits for a sense of well-being, and yet acutely aware of the harm this form of eating can do to her or his self-esteem, health, career, and social life. All in all, successful weight loss dieting may need the extra help provided by one of the most effective mental tools available, self hypnosis.

The self hypnosis diet is based on two types of ideas, suggested to the dieter during the hypnosis. First, once the person has carefully researched the weight loss diet to be followed, the specific diet requirements may be formed into suggestions and included in the self hypnosis. These ideas are crafted to reflect the precise needs of the diet, even mentioning certain foods and other particulars. A second type of hypnosis diet idea to be suggested is motivational. Motivational ideas may consist of the most powerful reasons for the person to remain on the diet, to make the diet a success. Again, these may be worded precisely, to suit the thinking of the person, although a skilled professional can prepare an effective "generic" weight loss recording, too.

Why is hypnosis so effective for dieting? Think of it like this: hypnosis can't change the weather, but it can help you to use your umbrella, which will keep you nice and dry. Every diet, Weight Watchers, Atkins, etc., has a special set of rules to follow. Most of the reputable diets are designed by nutrition experts and usually based on pretty sound science. If the rules are followed, the weight comes off. The real task of the person dieting is not to re-invent the diet, it's simply to stick with the diet and by following the rules, reap the benefits. Hypnosis is a fabulous tool to enhance any dieter's ability to follow those all-important rules, no matter what the program may be.

A professionally prepared self hypnosis mp3, cd, or tape can be a life-long tool in reaching and maintaining a healthy weight. Often, weight loss dieters feel helpless and alone in their uphill climb. A good hypnosis recording is an oasis of personal pleasure and strength in this struggle. I urge you to let hypnosis be your secret dieting weapon!

5 Tips To Help You Lose Weight Faster, Easier And Make It More Fun

Let me share with you 5 six weight loss tips that you can start practicing in a few minutes from now...

1. Never say "It's OK, I'll burn it off tomorrow"

It's easy to fall into this trap. When you have your favorite food in front of you, it's really difficult to resist the temptation. So you end up saying, "It's ok, I'll burn it off tomorrow" and then you give in. Now this is where you're making one of the worst mistakes! That workout tomorrow rarely happens. You know it too. Trust me, refrain yourself from giving in at all costs and you'll be well on your way to achieving that desired weight loss.

2. If you're gonna commit to a plan, make sure it's a viable and realistic plan:

Many people make empty promises to themselves thinking that they'll get it done. When it comes to weight loss, they do the same, they don't think or plan out a realistic weight loss plan. When your plan is not realistic, you will fail. And when that happens, you will feel so depressed that you're just gonna give everything up. You need to think and make a commitment that's viable and you know you can stick to.

3. Do cardio exercises and burn calories

To really lose weight, you need a good balance of the right diet and the right exercises. Walk, run, jog, swim, play sports, do exercise, aerobics or weight training, dance, use exercise machinery, anything you want and anything you like. Just make sure you pick at least one. These activities help you boost your calorie burning, making it easier and faster to lose weight. Do it regularly and you body will start to burn all the fats away.

4. Rest

You must get enough rest in and maintain a relaxed state of mind. When you're in stress, either mentally or physically, your body system automatically gets into "flight or fright" condition. When that happens, it starts preserving fat for energy usage in future. Now that's not good right. Therefore, you must get a good mental and physical relaxation so that you can pursue your weight loss at ease and with success.

5. Keep the fire burning

Most people start out with fire burning in their eyes. You can always feel their determination whenever they're near. But, they'll never make it to the end unless they know how to keep the fire burning. Find things that you know will motivate you to spur on and continue the tough journey. Hey losing weight ain't the same as taking a walk down the beach, it takes hardwork and determination. Be determined and face all challenges with open arms.

There you go, 5 easy weight loss tips just for you. I hope these tips help, cheers!

5 Secrets to Lasting Weight Loss

Are you ready to stop yo-yo dieting? We have all read countless studies and know from experience that often, keeping the weight off is as much of a challenge as losing it. Here are 5 secrets to shedding those extra pounds and keeping them off.

1. Individualize - Find what works for you, this may take some trial and error but in the long run it pays off. Lets face it all diets work when you follow them.... but can you live your life with the eating plan? Find a plan that you can not only live with but enjoy. You can do this by assessing what has and hasn't worked in the past, what your food preferences are, and looking for healthy ways to incorporate them into an eating plan.

2. Choose - We all have a choice about what we eat. Choose smart calories - healthy carbohydrates like whole grains, fruit,& vegetables, - low fat proteins like chicken breast, fish, & low fat yogurt, - healthy fats like omega 3 (salmon, nuts, flax seed). You can enjoy your food and feel full.

3. Carbohydrates - The thing is carbohydrates are good for you, if you choose the right ones. Sugar and highly refined flour wreak havoc on your blood sugar causing you to be hungry again very quickly. Studies have shown choosing the good carbohydrates (fruit, veggies, whole grains) over the refined ones (soda, cookies, white bread) can help you to lose up to 10 pounds in a year even if you don't cut calories.

4. Move It - Exercise is important to weight loss and maintaining weight. Every bit counts, if you can't find 30 - 45 minutes in one chunk break it down into 15 minute segments. Be sure to include strength training in your exercise regime to get the double benefit of toned muscle and increased resting metabolism. Start where you are and appreciate all that you body does each and every day. Honor your body by taking care of it.

5. Haunting Habits - Be on the alert for habit creep, the insidious slide back to the habits that helped you gain the weight. Be alert and keep the good habits you've developed from being consumed by the old ones. Schedule regular maintenance check ups with yourself... whats working , whats not, do the clothes still fit the same, are your goals still reflective of what you really want?

Free Calorie Shifting Menu

Why are you unable to stay motivated to follow a diet? Is it because you get headaches? Is it because you are constantly waging an uphill battle against your cravings? Is it because you always feel hungry and are on the brink of starvation while dieting? Is it because you feel lethargic due to the lack of energy from the foods you used to eat?

There is a new type of diet out there, known as calorie shifting, that addresses these issues. You can eat as much as you want on this diet, from all four major food groups, over the course of four full meals every day. What kind of results can you expect on this diet? Most typically, you can expect to lose about 9 pounds for every 11 days. That is just shy of 1 pound per day!

Calorie shifting gives you a great deal of flexibility in terms of the foods you can eat. You devise your own customized meal plans within the context of the calorie shifting dietary structure. Basically, what calorie shifting means is that you lose weight by shifting the types, not the quantity, of the foods you eat, from meal to meal. In doing so on a rotational basis continuously over the course of several days, you are simulating a sustained nutritional deficit which triggers your body's metabolism to go into fat-burning mode as a means of "self-preservation". Of course, you aren't really depriving yourself of any nutrients. You are merely shuffling your calories around so as to simulate the effect with every food groups, rather than with one food group.

One noteworthy feature of this diet plan is that you are required to take a 3-day break from the diet every 2 weeks, during which you can eat anything you want. So for every 14 days on the diet, you spend the first 11 actually dieting, and the remaining 3 days eating normally.

Essentially, if you lose 9 pounds in 11 days, take a 3-day break, and then lose 9 pounds during the next 11 days, before taking another 3-day break, that's a total of 18 pounds in 28 days. In a 31-day month, you can easily burn off at least 20 pounds!

Download a free 11-day sample menu plan that illustrates how the diet works. You can be 20 pounds lighter this month!

How To Rapidly Lose Unwanted Weight

With social and career success being steadfastly rooted in modern life, physical appearance is more significant than ever. The common image of a prospering individual seems to be built up around physical fitness in both the physical and ethical aspects, a sort of a physical and moral correctness. Consequently a lot of people are concerned with keeping themselves in shape, particularly after a winter of eating heavier food at the expense of energizing vegetables and fruits.

The first thing to do when trying to get rid of the unwanted excess kilos is to have a look at your diet. This is the first step on your journey. Are you trusting heavily on chips, soda pop and fast food to make it through the day? Are you eating enough veggies and fruits? While beefburgers, chips and soda is a tasty and comforting combination, it is also a lethal proposal to your health. If you want to stay fit, you must cease eating high-powered food that provides too much energy.

Your body doesn't like to waste things it can employ later on and energy is one of the most crucial things that can be stacked away. Eating burgers and french fries while leading a largely inactive lifestyle gives your body a good deal more energy than it normally uses. This energy is not cast aside, but converted to fat and put into storage. Therefore, you must cut back on this type of food and turn to the more modest fruits and vegetables to keep hunger under control without putting your wellness at risk.

The second part of the system is exercise. While a sound diet makes sure your body doesn't get more energy than it needs, physical exercise is here to help eat up energy already stored. Taking refreshing walks after meals is alright, exercising half an hour per day is good, going to a gym for an hour or so five days a week is perfect. There's no need to starve or exhaust yourself. Diet and exercising can be fun with a bit of thinking and a confident attitude.

5 Common Ab Myths

Is it possible to get abs post-pregnancy? It's hard enough to get 6-pack abs, let alone after you've had six children. Craig Ballantyne, recently spoke with fitness competitor Fran Dennis for her tips and secrets on how to help you lose fat and define your abs.

Most women would expect that with six kids to take care of, Francisca would have no time to train. But she makes time through careful scheduling - splitting her lifting and cardio between morning and evening if she has to. When she added lifting into her program, that is when her physique changes started to show the most.

You have to work hard on your diet as well, sticking to a fat-burning, muscle-building diet all year round. That helps out in the training department as well, because it doesn't require drastic increases in the amount of training to get competition fit. Diet is the key to your success.

Stick to lean meats, complex carbohydrates and lots of green veggies and water.

Just training abs won't give you the very sought after "six pack". It's a lifestyle change that involves training your whole body, being consistent and clean with your diet, as well as driven and motivated to be your best. Work hard, and be happy with what you see in the mirror. Don't cut yourself down. Revel in your accomplishments and believe in yourself.

Here's a list of 5 common myths about abs.

Myth 1) You don't need to watch what you eat

Diet is first and foremost the key factor when trying to get 6-pack abs. "No matter how much you exercise, you can't just eat what you want and expect to get optimal results," Fran says. So be like Fran and plan your nutrition in advance, to avoid dietary downfalls.

Myth 2) As long as you do a lot of ab exercises and repetitions, it doesn't matter how well you do them

It is important to do all repetitions with good form. Focus on quality, not quantity. Bad form will give you less results, and you could hurt your back if you are not careful.

Myth 3) You can "Spot reduce" the fat on your abs with crunches

No matter how many crunches you do, you won't be able to get rid of your ab fat with crunches alone. You need a good diet and an increase in your calorie burning from total body exercises.

Myth 4) Infomercial products work!

Belt-saunas, and electrical stimulators are not magic bullets. You can't expect anything you order from TV to help you get a 6-pack.

Myth 5) You must do abs every day

You don't need to do abs every day. Instead, train them hard three times per week.

7 Superfoods for Weight Loss

The superfoods in this article not only have weight loss attributes but supreme health benefits that make them ideal members in any healthy weight loss regime.

Chilli

The active ingredient in chilli called capsaicin is a thermogenic agent which helps to increase metabolism and the burning of calories and fat. This is why capsaicin is found in many natural weight loss formulas. Capsaicin is also believed to be an appetite suppressant. Two studies led by the same Japanese researcher (Yoshioka et al., British Journal of Nutrition; 1998, 1999), revealed the ability of cayenne to increase the metabolism of dietary fats in women as well as demonstrate modest reductions in appetite.

In addition to weight loss properties, capsaicin has been shown to relieve pain, sinusitis, psoriasis, migraines and arthritis, improve circulation and stomach conditions and inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

Bee pollen

Bee Pollen, around 40% protein with a staggering composition of nutrients, enzymes and phytochemicals, is a virtually complete food. As well as a plethora of health benefits, it is said to stimulate the metabolism, speeding up the burning of calories, and its high content of lecithin can help to flush fat from the body.

Bee pollen also functions as an appetite suppressant, containing the amino acid phenylalanine that is known to effect the area of the brain that deals with feelings of hunger and fullness. Unlike the chemical manmade derivative of phenylalanin called phenylpropanolamine used in commercial weight-loss products, phenylalanin is not addictive and has no negative side effects. Bee pollen also satiates the appetite and eliminates cravings because it is so nutrient-dense.

Coconut oil

Dr. Weston A Price, the Darwin of nutrition writes, Replacing the fats you now eat with coconut oil may be the wisest decision you can make to lose excess body fatYou can lose unwanted body fat by eating more saturated fat (in the form of coconut oil) and less polyunsaturated fat (processed vegetable oils). One of the remarkable things about coconut oil is that it can help you lose weight. Yes, there is a dietary fat that can actually help you take off unwanted pounds. Coconut oil can quite literally be called a low-fat fat.

Coconut oil is unique from animal saturated fats in that it is comprised of medium chain fatty acids which are absorbed directly and used immediately for energy. Raymond Peat MD, author of Coconut Oil and Its Virtues, concludes, The anti-obesity effect of coconut oil is clear in all of the animal studies, and in my friends who eat it regularly.

Coconut oil has also been found to benefit a myriad of conditions from diabetes, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, digestive disorders, thyroid imbalances, and viral, bacterial and fungal infections.

Nettles

Nettles contain serotonin, a mood enhancing neurotransmitter with a calming influence. Serotonin also plays a role in the feelings of satiation one experiences after eating, hence functions as an appetite suppressant. It is for this reason that serotonin supplements have been designed to tackle food cravings and aid slimming.

Studies have shown a direct link between obesity (due to overeating) and decreased brain levels of serotonin. This is no doubt one reason why nettles have a traditional reputation for improving weight-loss. The late naturalist and wild-food forager Euel Gibbons claims, stinging nettle is very efficacious in removing unwanted pounds!.

Nettles are incredible mineral dense and are cleansing and detoxifying for the body. They are also great for skin, hair and nails as they contain the beautifying mineral sulphur.

Chocolate

Cacao (aka pure chocolate), contains chemicals that increase levels of serotonin in the brain, and as such has appetite suppressing properties. Serotonin levels are raised in part due to the amino acid tryptophan in cacao as well as the action of monoamine oxidase enzyme inhibitors (MAO inhibitors). These decrease our bodys ability to break down serotonin so that more of this neurotransmitter remains in the brain remains, creating feelings of fullness for longer.

Cacao is also exceptionally high in antioxidants, has potent aphrodisiac properties, healthy minerals and mood-boosting compounds such as PEA the love chemical.

Pure, unrefined chocolate contains none of the detriments of commercial products such as sugar, hydrogenated fats, milk, additives, agro-chemicals and solvents.

Green Tea

A study published in the December 1999 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, led by Dr. Dullo at the University of Geneva, indicates that substances in green tea extract may actually promote weight loss. Men given a combination of both caffeine and green tea extract burned more fat calories than those given caffeine or placebo alone.

The scientists believed that the catechin flavonoids in green tea may alter the body's use of norepinephrine, a chemical transmitter in the nervous system, to increase the rate of calorie burning. They concluded, Green tea has thermogenic properties and promotes fat oxidation beyond that explained by its caffeine content per se.

Green tea also lowers cholesterol, reduces the risk of stroke, protects against cancer, prevents teeth cavities and has anti-inflammatory action.

Omega 3 Fish Oil

Omega-3 oils serve numerous bodily processes and are particularly good for the immune system and heart as well as arthritis, skin conditions, pre-menstrual tension, mental function, improving memory and reducing depressive symptoms. Omega 3 oils also play a role in burning fats within the body and as such can aid weight-management.

This is due to its effects on insulin, reducing levels in the body. Insulin promotes the use of fat for storage and reduces the use of fat for fuel, hence lower insulin levels mean greater conversion of fat for energy rather than storage.

The best Omega-3 oil sources are oily fish like sardines, salmon and mackerel. Plant sources include flaxseeds (the richest plant source), walnuts, pumpkin seeds, green leafy vegetables, evening primrose oil, wheat germ and spirulina.

I would also recommend a primarily raw food diet (plant-based) and alkaline diet for healthy weight loss.

Walking Sense - Make the Most of Your Walking Workouts

It seems simple. You pull on a pair of tennis shoes and head outdoors. Everyone thinks they know what walking is and how to do it. Besides the amazing health benefits to walking, there can be more to walking besides putting one foot in front of the other. To make the most of your workout and reduce incidences of muscle and joint pain, consider these walking mistakes to avoid:

#1. Overstriding: Knowing the correct way to walking can improve your health and help you to walk faster and more smoothly. On the other hand, walking the wrong way will lead to wasted effort and even injury. As a walker, it's natural to try to walk faster and lengthen your stride with the forward foot. This method causes walkers to strike the ground hard with their feet, resulting in a clumsy gait, sore shins, and muscle fatigue.

The cure for overstriding comes as result of pushing with the back of the leg and foot. When walking fast, aim for shorter, quicker steps. Think of pushing off your foot with a rolling-through motion of your back foot and leg. The correct stride should be a lengthening of your stride, which will result in faster feet.

#2.Wrong Shoes: A good walking shoe is necessary to avoid injuries such as plantar fasciitis, muscle pulls and knee problems. Walking shoes should be lightweight with flexible soles that will allow you to easily roll through each step. Shoes should also be replaced every 500 miles (or every year), as the cushioning and support will degrade. Walking shoes should also be larger than your dress shoes if you walk more than 30 minutes or more for exercise. Athletic shoe store associates can help to size a right-fitting walking shoe for you.

#3. Flapping and Slapping Feet: It's a natural tendency to flatten your foot out prematurely while walking if you're not conscious of rolling through each step with your forward foot - from heel to toe. Heavy shoes or weak shins can contribute to the problem. Again, it's important to wear flexible shoes that bend at the ball of the feet and feature a low heel. To strengthen your shins, try toe raises by standing on a stair facing upstairs and let your heels hang over the edge. Dip the heels down and raise them up 10-20 times. Prior to your walking workout, warm up the heels by walking on them for 30 seconds.

#4. No Arms: Perhaps you've seen someone walking with their arms still at their sides, or even swinging them without bending. Besides looking strange, this method will lead to swelling in the hands. Normal walking motion requires the arms to move as a counterbalance to the legs. A walker adds power and speed when using the arms correctly. Make sure you bend your arms at a 90 degree angle and let them swing naturally back and forth, opposite the leg motion.

#5. Chicken Wing: This is Walking Workout 101, not the Chicken Dance. If you're swinging your arms from side to side, crossing the center of your body, you may be a Chicken Wing offender. Remember that your arms should swing back and forth and elbows should be close to your body. Hands should not cross the center line or come up past your breasts. A correct arm swing allows you to concentrate power from your rear leg rather than wasting motion in front of your body.

#6. Leaning: You find yourself leaning back or forward more than 5 degrees. Or perhaps you have a sway back. Maybe you thought leaning equals good form. Leaning forward or backward while walking can result in lower back pain and will inhibit your speed and technique.

The proper position for good walking is to stand up straight but relax the shoulders. Keep your chin up and parallel to the ground. Your stomach and behind should also be tucked in as you walk. To keep from swaying your back, make sure your stomach or backside are not pushed out forward or back. Stomach- and back-strengthening exercises are very beneficial for standing straighter.

Now available for home use to soothe the aches and pains associated with arthritis, psoriasis, tired joints and sore muscles from an active lifestyle. Thousands have benefited from the pain relieving power of these safe, natural, non-prescription treatments.

One can expect all the potential complications associated with a general surgery in the surgery for weight loss also. These complications include respiratory problems, excessive bleeding, allergic reactions to the medicines and risk of infections.

Along with these, one can expect some other complications that are associated with a surgery to reduce body weight. These complications include spreading of stomach acids to other parts of the abdomen, vitamin and mineral deficiencies and dumping syndrome.

Still surgical treatment for weight loss is a blessing for many who are confined to their place due to over weight of their body. Such persons will be able resume their normal life and avoid or at least control the medical problems associated with obesity if they can reduce their weight to the permissible limits.

The main draw back of a weight loss surgery is that only persons with extra will power can undergo it and come out of it successfully.

Day 2 - Follow My Weight Loss Program - A Little Harder

I just finished up day 2 of my nutrition and exercise program, although I haven't really done any serious exercising other than walking the dog, and doing work, but I will get to more on that in a moment.

After going through 2 days of this I realize, my cupboards and fridge are filled with absolutely nothing healthy to eat. It was quite difficult to conjure up 5 meals throughout the day that would be classified as healthy. So much so, that I don't think they were all healthy, but I have learned from doing a lot of reading, that I should control my portion size, so that is what I did.

Most of the foods I ate on Day 2 are about the same as they were on day 1. What I did notice, is that I did not get enough vegetables, especially the leafy green kind, throughout the day. I tried to incorporate some on Day 2 in the form of fresh spinach mixed with romaine lettuce in salads. My goal is to include veggies in meals 1 through 4, with the final meal being a protein only.

More research I have read says that eating after 6:00 pm (although some sources said 7:00pm) can contribute to weight gain, since most people's bodies slow down at the time. I also read that too many carbs and "bad" fats (we'll get more into that in another posting), can contribute to weight gain as well. Putting both of these statements of knowledge together has lead me to eat a protein only meal as my last meal of the day.

Now back to my exercise routine, or lack thereof. Currently I am only walking the dog, and as part time work, I renovate homes, doing a lot of lifting of material, etc. The plan is to incorporate a weight and aerobic exercise program, which studies have shown, combined with a healthy nutrition plan will accelerate weight loss.

With that said, at some point during my busy day, I will head over to the local sporting goods store and pick up some weights, maybe a bench, and basically see what they have that fits within my budget. As for aerobics, the outside comes free of charge, and my legs work wonderfully, so I don't see any reason why the dog and I can't start running in the morning or evening. We'll see what he thinks about it.

Regards,
Mike P.

Day 2

NUTRITION
Meal 1: Whole wheat waffles with natural peanut butter spread on them
Meal 2: Banana with natural peanut butter
Meal 3: Grilled cheese sandwhich on multi-grain bread
Meal 4: Natural peanut butter on whole wheat waffle, spinach salad
Meal 5: Mixed green salad with sunflower seeds and a Gorton's baked fish fillet

EXERCISE
Again exercise consisted of walking the dog in the morning for about 15 minutes and then again in the evening for about 40 minutes.

NOTES
Not a alot of variety in the food department as that is really what I had to work with. Will more than likely go shopping on Day 3 to pick up items I will need for the remainder of the week. Also I will be noting my weight on a weekly basis, every Monday.

Bodybuilding Cutting Exercises Are a Fitness Myth

Bodybuilders use high repetition sets to get ripped, but could get more results in less time by doing less work.

High repetition sets do not get you cut.

This is a myth, and there's a much better way to sculpt your body, get ripped, and finally achieve the elusive 6-pack.

But again, let me repeat, you won't succeed with high-repetition sets using light weights. And don't even worry about the "pump", but that's another article for another day. To get ripped, its all about nutrition and intensity. We want to be able to see our well-earned muscles and our 6-pack abs.

And that's why we get lured into the belief of the cutting exercises. Because it causes a burn in our muscles, we generally think, hey, this must be burning fat. But it's not! It's just a fatiguing sensation. If you are using a high-rep, cutting program, I doubt you are getting the results you want. You don't need to be in the gym too long.

There is a better way to burn fat. A faster way. And a smarter way. It doesn't involve "toning" workouts or "Cutting exercises". What you need to do for fat loss, and getting cut, is to focus on the same exercises that helped you build muscle in the first place.

So forget the pec-dec, and stick with dumbbell presses. Say goodbye to leg extensions, and keep using squats and lunges. Next up is the shocker! Use intervals to cut fat fast! Instead, we'll use interval training to burn fat and boost our metabolism in less than half the time as a normal cardio workout. Only 20 minutes of interval training done 3 times per week resulted in weight loss in one Australian study.

On the other hand, three 40-minute cardio sessions did not cause any weight loss in the same study. Shocking results, but it just goes to show you the power of intensity. No more slow boring aerobics. That means saying goodbye to light weights and high reps and long slow cardio. Goodbye, nice to know you! If you want to get ripped muscles, diet hard?

First, you need the proper dietary changes to promote muscle gains and body fat reductions. Nutrition is the most important factor for fat burning and getting cut. If your nutrition sucks, and you eat fast food or skip meals, you are in big trouble. There is no workout good enough to overcome bad nutrition. Next, focus on multi-muscle strength exercises and finish with interval training to burn more calories out of the gym.

No more machines. No more high reps. Use more intensity and put turbulence on your muscles. If you did a squat, a press, and a row in each workout, and then did intervals, you'd get ripped if your nutrition was good. Keep it incredibly simple, but intense.

Forget about slow boring cardio. You need to do short burst exercise instead. Consistency is key for getting cut.

Forget bodybuilding, use Turbulence Training to get ripped. Burn fat with bodyweight exercises.

Weight Loss Surgery Precautions

Weight loss surgery can be the last resort for individuals with serious weight related health problems.

Weight loss surgery, also known as bariatric surgery, may be considered to improve your appearance as well as your health. The two most common forms of weight loss surgery are gastric bypass surgery (or stomach stapling) and lap-band surgery which uses an adjustable band to restrict food consumption.

If you are seriously considering weight loss surgery, you may have tried a number of weight loss diets and fitness plans and are convinced that the only way to lose weight is to resort to surgery. Firstly, you must understand that many weight loss surgeons will not even consider you for the procedure unless you are severely overweight or morbidly obese. This may be defined as an individual who is at least 80lbs overweight or whose weight is 50% -100% over their ideal weight.

This can also be worked out by using a Body Mass Index scale or BMI. The BMI takes your current weight and height and produces an index number which gives a good guide to how overweight you actually are.

Whether or not you are a candidate for weight loss surgery, it is sensible to look into alternative forms of weight loss first. Many people have had success losing weight through healthy eating, regular exercise and various weight loss products. These alternatives are often effective - and will save you a lot of money as surgery can be extremely expensive.

If you are looking for a quick fix or are considering weight loss surgery for purely cosmetic reasons, you should understand that even after you have had the surgical procedure your health care professional will still expect you to take regular exercise and stick to a rigid diet plan.

However, in cases where your health is at risk due to obesity then weight loss surgery can be an effective and viable solution to losing weight with long lasting results.

Remember to consult your doctor or health care professional on all matters, and do your research if you are seriously considering weight loss surgery and have exhausted your other options.

Weight Loss - Lose Weight With Cardio

The best way to go about doing cardio is to make it as exciting as possible. You want to do different periods of cardio workouts.

What do I mean? Doing just one thing can become boring, and its often the least effective.

However when you combine certain cardio workouts you not only have more fun doing your workout, but you also lose weight a lot faster, and more effectively.

Also if you are overweight, you will benefit a lot more from any type of exercise.

However before you begin, make sure you are prepared.

Why? Well there are a lot of times when people that are not in great a great physical state, and they often go for biggest workout they can think of. There is nothing wrong with being confident about yourself, but when it injures you its just ignorant.

You want to make sure you are somewhat in shape before doing a high intensity workout.

Fore example... A person who rarely runs will not be able to throw him or herself into a marathon, without hitting the invisible brick wall.

You have to learn to build up your endurance so you can run faster and farther each day. Start off by running at a certain pace for 5/mins a day for a week.

Then move yourself up to 10/mins a day for a week, and so on. Keep this up and you will eventually have enough endurance to take on anyone in a race.

Stretching

Stretching is very important before you start a cardio workout. Do enough until you feel the strains in your muscles getting more flexible.

Stretching can improve your overall performance; it will also make you feel less sore after your workout.

Nutrition

I often tell people to eat smaller meals/day rather than 3 large course meals. The reason why is because when you eat the smaller meals more frequently your metabolism stays at its peak. This will help us burn fatter.

Obviously stay away from fast foods, ice cream, potato chips, and all the other junk food. Everyone knows what he or she should or should not be eating. Its common sense. If you were trying to get fit, why would you eat junk food?

The only types of people that can get away with this are people that are usually on sports teams.

Easy Weight Loss Tips

Excessive weight is definitely a top concern for many people as our culture has become very sedentary and much of our food is packaged with empty calories, so we are prone to obesity or excessive weight problems. Readers and consumers are always interested in weight loss regimens because it is estimated that as many as eight in every ten people experience health and fashion problems linked to obesity or excess weight. Here are some weight loss tips that will surely work for you if you decide it's time to get your own weight issues under control:

Consume about five servings of vegetables and fruits at a minimum each day. Such foods are packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber which provides you with a sense of fullness that can help to keep you from over-indulging. Fruits and vegetables also naturally have lower calorie counts.

You may have thought that skipping meals would help lower weight. Think again. Skipping meals isn't a good idea because firstly, it can lead to ulcers, and secondly, you'll tend to eat more because of over-hunger during your next meal, so it basically defeats the purpose of skipping a meal in the first place. Instead, you should have about five to six very small meals throughout the whole day, instead of the usual three large meals. Eating more frequently will actually help balance calorie intake, regulate your blood sugar levels and keep your metabolism chugging along at a steady pace all day.

Take the time to learn how to read and interpret product labels especially on packaged food products that claim to be healthy. You'll often find that they are actually a lot less healthy than they claim because the food serving listed is much smaller than most reasonable people would eat. Or maybe an item is low fat, but has a ton of sugar in it.

Start fitting some regular exercise into your day. You'll keep your metabolism pumping away, actively working to burn calories and stored fats in the body. Such rigorous activities would also help you excrete toxins from the body through sweat. Enrolling to a gym and getting involved in physical sports are sure ways that the body can effectively and beneficially sweat it out. About 30 to 60 minutes of overall physical activity three to four times a week is what you want to strive for. If you are too busy to go the gym or get involved with sports, a half hour walk a few times a week would also do the trick. The idea is to get up and move and keep your body working efficiently.

If you're looking for a weight loss solution that is easy to follow, then be sure to take a look at Fat Loss 4 Idiots The program is simple to follow and comes with an online diet generator so you don't even have to think about what you need to eat. Just follow the plan.

Weight Loss - Why Hypnosis Really Does Help

If you are one of the many millions of people who struggle to maintain the proper weight, you are probably aware of the generally accepted ground rules of weight management. The rules say that you need just two things to keep to the correct weight: proper diet and exercise. These two factors are expounded in books and programs worldwide that are the center of a billion-dollar business.

Unfortunately, that business is failing, at least in having an effect, if not in making money for its principals. The proportion of the population who are overweight, and in fact obese, is growing at an alarming rate. And it's not just the United States, by the way. Obesity worldwide is such a concern that the World Health Organization has coined a new word "Globesity" to describe what they see as a global problem.

For many of us, "proper diet and exercise" is not a simple or an easy answer - instead, it represents a total and challenging lifestyle change. Resistance to the required change in personal eating and exercise habits and practices is what dooms many individual attempts to lose weight.

In other words, proper diet and exercise are only half of what is required to maintain a healthy weight - the physical half. It's the other half: the mental and emotional challenges, resistance to change, and difficulty in breaking habits and routines, which keep us overweight.

And, seeing that "proper diet and exercise" is fairly simple in concept, and it's the emotional and habit issues that are the sticking point, it's therefore those latter issues that we should be focusing on. This is where hypnosis can help.

Let me comment, by the way, that all this is the reason why programs like Jenny Craig, Weightwatchers, and even Overeaters Anonymous are so effective. Using meetings and counselors to allow you to interact with others, they address your emotional needs as much as the physical aspects of diet. However, the use of hypnosis can be a lot cheaper, faster, and easier.

For example, most of us have become accustomed (conditioned) to eating particular types and amounts of food on a particular schedule. It's not easy to eat less, or differently. Our tummies are used to feeling full, our brains are conditioned to eat at particular times, and we are used to particular foods, often those which are "not good" for us.

Exercise is also not that easy to insert into one's daily routine. It seems straightforward but humans are strongly resistant to it. Plus, in today's society, who has the time?

This is where hypnotic techniques can help. Hypnotherapy is about habit reconditioning and behavior modification. A course of hypnotherapy can help you modify your existing behaviors and habit patterns, in other words, the mental and emotional challenges, so that you more easily adjust to the new lifestyle required to achieve the two physical cornerstones of weight management - diet and exercise.

But, hypnosis or not, you still have to embrace the diet and exercise part. Hypnosis helps you do this.

Now, here is the good news - a good hypnotherapy program can greatly influence good weight management behavior and make a substantial difference in the adjustments required to a new diet and exercise regime.

First, hypnosis can teach you relaxation. Many of the triggers that cause people to overeat are caused by stress-related factors. The kind of relaxation learned during hypnosis techniques can greatly reduce stress, making the adjustment to new habits much easier.

Next, a good hypnotherapist will work with you to identify triggers. Triggers are things that happen in your environment that consciously or unconsciously "trigger" you to eat at the wrong time. Triggers sabotage good diet and exercise habits.

You may be one of those people who find yourself standing looking inside the fridge for no reason, just looking for something to eat. Your hypnotherapist will help you change those behaviors so that you only snack at fixed times, and then you only eat something good for you, such as a protein snack to prevent hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar.

We describe certain foods as comfort foods - food which is tasty to eat and filling, and generally bad for you. For some people, their entire diet is comfort food. Maybe their parents fed them comfort food at a young age when they were upset. Whatever the reason, those bad eating habits are now engrained. Your hypnotherapist can give you suggestions to change your automatic responses when you have an upset or a "stress moment".

In fact, hypnosis can help alleviate the pangs or cravings that we tend to feel even when we are not hungry, and do not need nourishment. Often we eat because we are just used to eating at a certain time, or because our tummies are used to feeling full. The problem with this is that over the years, we need to eat more and more to maintain that "full" feeling. Hypnosis can reverse this behavior to allow you to let go of the hunger pangs that occur at the wrong times.

Your hypnotherapist can also help you to change your mental patterns so that you feel better about yourself. Self-image is a big issue when it comes to weight and dieting issues.

Dieting is not difficult, as it happens. There is a huge variety of different options, including for those who want bigger portions, those who like particular foods, and so forth. It's making the adjustment to stick to a plan that makes the difference, and that's the key to success.

So, what's the game plan? First, when entering into any form of diet, exercise, or other lifestyle change, it's always a good idea to visit your doctor and get his advice on what to do and the limits. For example, if you have not exercised forever and you are 50 pounds overweight, it's not a good idea to suddenly try running 3 miles a day. You need to start slowly. So, get a diet and exercise plan from your doctor.

Next, understand that you have to take it slowly. Weight loss of 1-2 pounds a week is a standard goal, and this requires both diet and exercise. You can probably lose more in the short term by taking more extreme measures like starvation dieting. However, this will not last and is not recommended.

Second, understand that even with hypnosis, you are going to have to exert a little bit of will power. Hypnosis will help you greatly by making you aware of the urges and reframing your automatic responses. However, at some point you are going to have to just say "no". It's at this point that a hypnotic refresher, such as an MP3 recording, will be very effective.

There are many "Hypnosis weight loss" programs and CDs available. The best kind of program, however, is one which offers personalized individual sessions, backed up by recordings to be listened to between the sessions. Hypno-To-Go provides such a program, for example. The individual hypnotherapy sessions, which can be performed over the phone, will be directed towards your specific weight loss issues, and can also be tailored to support the specific diet and exercise program that you have chosen or that your doctor has recommended.

Finally, know that you are not alone. Millions of people are overweight and even obese as we stated above. However, this does not mean that you can not make a difference for yourself. Take the right steps, take them slowly, and commit to the long term, and a return to a lower weight will surely be in your future. I wish you the very best of success with your weight loss endeavors.

Revolutionary, Safe, and Clinically Proven Natural Weight Loss

America is in a health care crisis. More than 60 percent of US adults are overweight and 25% are considered obese. One in four children are overweight and are headed for a lifetime of chronic illness. These numbers have nearly doubled in the last twenty years.

Excess body weight has been linked to many common conditions affecting Americans. These include: heart disease, high blood pressure, back pain, certain cancers, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, stroke, high cholesterol, diabetes, gall bladder disorders, sleep apnea, Syndrome X (insulin resistance), and others. Health care costs directly related to obesity are second only to smoking and are increasing at an alarming rate.

Consistent weight loss can be accomplished by understanding and implementing some simple truths. Total caloric intake must be less than the amount of calories a person burns. This is known as the base metabolic rate (BMR). Low calorie high glycemic (carbohydrate) diets cause an increase in insulin which will virtually lock up fat making it impossible to burn. High insulin levels will lead muscle wasting when eating less than the BMR.

Moderate resistance training exercise is also required to insure lean muscle is retained. Maintaining muscle mass while burning fat improves body composition (increases lean muscle and decreases fat) and maintains or increases the BMR. Long term weight loss and/or maintenance is very difficult if a person has an uncontrolled appetite and/or problem with emotional eating.

These concepts are simple to understand but often difficult or impossible for the overweight person to implement. Another little known fact further explains why so many people are overweight. Ninety percent of overweight people are deficient in serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, and/or epinephrine. These are important brain and nervous system chemical messengers called neurotransmitters (NTs) that affect every system in the body including the appetite and satiety centers in the brain. Most people have heard of serotonin because those suffering from depression and/or anxiety disorders are commonly prescribed selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor (SSRI) class drugs such as Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, Welbutrin, etc.

Although these drugs sometimes provide temporary symptomatic relief, they DO NOT add a single molecule of serotonin to the system. In fact, SSRI drugs cause an increased rate of excretion of serotonin which further depletes a NT deficient person. The solution is to evaluate NT levels with a simple urine test and then optimize the NT by providing amino acid therapy. The amino acids provide the building blocks to rebuild the neurotransmitters. Serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine are appetite suppressors.

In addition to their emotional/psychological functions, serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine are also natural appetite supressors. When a person has therapeutic levels of these NTs in their system, they go into a state of safe appetite control. This allows them to follow their reduced-calorie diet while eliminating emotional eating and carbohydrate and chocolate cravings.

Another benefit of this elegant approach is that not only are there no side effects, but there are significant side benefits. Optimizing NT levels can help with many other symptoms of low neurotransmitters such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic fatigue, panic disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, pms, fibromyalgia, migraines, hormonal dysfunction, adrenal fatigue, digestive disorders, and many others.

The clinical results using this approach are very promising. In a Minnesota clinic with a patient base of 690 patients, the results are as follows. Average starting weight: 211 pounds. Average total weight loss: 62.6 pounds. Average loss during first month: 16.9 pounds. Average loss during active loss program: 8.4 pounds/ month. Average goal weight: 149 pounds. Percentage of active patients reaching their goal: 90 percent.

So Here are 6 Easy-to-Follow Tips to help you Lose Weight For Free Fast Without Dieting:

  1. Drink at least 8 -- 12 ounce glasses of water a day. Some people even suggest that you drink up to 2 liters a day. Not only will this aide in toxic cleansing, but you will feel fuller. At least 4 of these servings should have 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons of Organic lemon juice. Fresh squeezed is best. Another Scam or Not - The Hoodia Gordonii Side Effects

Okay before we get started I would really appreciate it if all of the people who have no business loosing weight please leave. I mean seriously. I get the most ridiculous emails at times from people who could hide behind me when I am standing sideways. This is for people like me. I am a mother of 6 and I actually need to eat in order to live. No, I am not talking about the 1 carrot stick a day meal plan, I am talking about real food. So if this isn't you get going.

On to our topic. I was so excited when I heard about the newest miracle in weight lose. I told my husband as soon as he got home and I had even found a few places to purchase it from. Then the worst thing happened. First, always make sure you know your husbands mood before you spring any money item on him. Second, make sure you always get rid of failed products before you ask him about a new one. That's right, not only did he say no. He actually pointed out various failed products.

I did the usual. I told him this time was different. I told him, I saw it on the news. I told him lots of sites were caring it. I told him I could find it on sale. It didn't work. He said no. The days went by and he still said no. Well it was time to change tactics. You ladies no what I am talking about. Find the problem and get around it. So I kept asking but now I was listened to why. This is what I heard. He was worried last time I jumped on a diet product. He felt this was just another scam. He loved me.

So I decided to take action. I found out that although Hoodia is still being researched it is a relatively safe product. It has been being studied for quite sometime and no side effects have been found to date. Although there is one thing to be careful about. Most of the Hoodia products currently on the market won't do a thing for you though. You see, they don't have enough Hoodia in them. The percentage of Hoodia is so low you think it would be illegal for them to put Hoodia on the bottle.

My best advice get informed. Find out not only what needs to be in the product but also how much. As much as 80% of the current products on the market are junk so please be like me and do your research. Hoodia can and will work but only if you are getting a high quality product, with a good source of Hoodia. This also helps with skeptical husbands. Good luck in your weight battle. I myself will battle on.
